On Brew Monday, 15 January 2024, Samaritans are encouraging people to reach out for a cuppa and a catch-up with those you care about.
The third Monday of January has long been awarded the gloomy title of 'Blue Monday' due to a combination of post-Christmas blues, cold dark nights, and proximity to pay day! Therefore, Samaritans say it’s time to stop this myth about Monday being ‘blue’ and start a conversation over a brew instead! Reach out and connect with family, friends, colleagues and loved ones.
Solo Support Services HQ is taking part next Monday, but any day can be a Brew Day. It doesn’t matter if it’s a Monday morning or Saturday night, or if you’re drinking green tea, black coffee or orange juice. If you’re sharing a cuppa and listening, you’re doing it right. It is a great reason to focus on mental health and well-being for yourself and those around you, during what can be for many, a difficult time in the year. So, have a Brew Monday, any Monday, or a day that’s good for you.
